July to 14 July 2018 – Bogantungan to Home

July to 14 July 2018 – Bogantungan to Home

July 2018 – We left Bogantungan and drove to Rolleston where we stayed in the very busy caravan park for the night. Luckily we arrived fairly early and secured a drive through site, because by late afternoon the park was jam packed. Lots of people travelling in all directions and wanting a spot to rest for the night.

July 2018 – On to Moura for the night, where we stayed at the very pleasant Rotary Park for $5. We walked around town did some shopping in the morning before we left.

July 2018 – As the weather forecast was for rain we decided to play safe and go to Theodore showgrounds and have a powered site for a couple of days. We treated ourselves to lunch at the hotel and did a half day trip to Isla Gorge National Park which was just as beautiful as the first time we saw it several years ago. There is a campground but not big enough for us to  take our van in.

July 2018 – We went to Lake Murphy Conservation Park for 2 very peaceful nights. The lake itself does not have much water but there is a lot of birdlife and we saw a huge flock of Australian Bustards on the way out.

July 2018 – We stopped at Columboola Country bush camp planning to stay for 2 nights. It was not as good as we had been led to expect so we left after one night.

July 2018 – To Proston Golf Course for 2 nights, very peaceful and only one other van there. Proston is a small town with a lovely Tea Rooms and a surprisingly well stocked clothing store. We bought 3 pairs of trousers for Frans (who has lost so much weight his old ones were too big) and a fancy jumper for me at very reasonable prices.

We went out to find some geocaches in the local area. One was at Hivesville Lookout  with beautiful views.

July 2018 – To Kenilworth Showgrounds to check it all out for our Southern Cross fifth wheeler muster next July. The camping area has doubled in size since we were there last and the town is buzzing.

July 2018 – Back home after 3 months away. It was good to be home and start preparing for our overseas trip which is now only a week away. We are going to Dubai, London, Belgium, Holland, back to England for 2 weeks and then on a cruise from Southampton to Dubai for 27 nights through the Suez Canal. We leave on 3 September and will return on 20th November.
