On our way south

We have just spent 3 days at Kwolyin in a really good free camp provided by the Shire of Bruce Rock on the site of the old township of Kwolyin. There are separate areas for RVs and tent campers, new flush toilets complete with hand basins, a small camp kitchen and picnic shelter. We had a great site, very private and with no close neighbours. We had a camp fire to keep us warm on 2 evenings.

kokerbin-cacheWe went on a trip to Kokerbin Rock 9 klm away, did the walk around and over the rock and found 2 geocaches while we were there. Kokerbin is the 3rd largest monolith in Australia and has a very scenic outlook over the crop fields. We spotted 5 types of orchids on our walk. Frans spotted the cache after a lot of searching.

Tonight we are at the RV rest area in York. Our friends Ray and Dawn came to visit from Perth for lunch. Tomorrow we will head south to the Dryandra Woodland area near Narrogin and stay at the National Parks campground at Congelin or Gnaala Mia – a good spot to find more orchids.
