24 Oct Orchids and Whales
We have been staying at Tozer’s Bush Camp near Bremer Bay W.A. finding beautiful Sun orchids.
Today we went to Point Ann in Fitzgerald River National Park. The wild flowers in the park were beautiful, especially the Royal Hakea with its various growth stages – last year’s growth glows red and yellow.
We were so lucky to see a Southern Right whale mother and calf in the bay at Point Ann. They were just lazing away the day in the shallow water while a pod of dolphins cruised by.
Before we came here we spent a couple of days in the Stirling Ranges National Park and found some lovely orchids there. What a season this has been for flowers, especially orchids.
